WIFI access to the internet is available free of charge. The Chateau de Ranton is an authentic medieval fortified castle, full of character, about 30 kilometers south of the Loire River. The castle is such a relaxing place with its calm and tranquil atmosphere. Ranton castle is beautifully furnished with antiques and fine paintings, with comfortable but tasteful sitting rooms and modern bathrooms and kitchens. It has large well-tended gardens, with a profusion of flowers in all seasons.
The ramparts are surrounded by a dry moat and enclose the inner courtyard gardens and the main buildings which are from the early 17th century in the Italian Renaissance style. It is not only a unique location in which to stay, but is also an excellent base for visits to historic sites, gardens and other places of interest in the Loire valley. The region is famous for its renaissance chateaux, wine, gourmet food and restaurants. Ranton and its countryside, rich in historical sites, also provides a large range of leisure activities such as cycling, walking, horse riding, fishing, golf, canoeing, wine tasting and much more. The village of Ranton is just a 30-minute drive from Saumur and 45 minutes from Chinon. It is a small village of 200 inhabitants, very typical of those in the area, consisting of a cluster of farms around the church and the château.

Ranton Castle Rental Rates The Chateau has two self-catering apartments for weekly rental: the Renaissance Rooms and the Ramparts Rooms. Both are in the main part of the castle. Each apartment accommodates four people, in two double bedrooms, with a sitting room, dining area, kitchen, bathroom, private gardens with garden furniture and barbeque, and use of the pool. Bedlinen and towels are included in the rental, as is WIFI access, electricity and gas, and heating in winter. Books and boardgames are available upon request, free of charge. The rental below is for each apartment, for one week from Saturday to Saturday.
Note: Weekend rentals (three nights – from Friday to Sunday) are also possible.
The rates are 60% of the weekly rates.
The Chateau also has three double bedrooms with on-suite bathrooms available per night, or weekly,
for extra guests in the apartments. These rooms are in the main part of the Chateau, with windows
and doors giving on to the main garden.
